In my practice as a Therapeutic Yoga Consultant and Mind Coach, I often see people struggle with accomplishing their goals. It’s great to have a vision, amazing ideas, and the enthusiasm to start a new project. Many people have creative minds and find it hard to do the required work to manifest their visions. Others are hard workers, yet somehow fail to accomplish their goals in spite of the effort they put in. Where most people get stuck is in successfully arranging their lives so that their efforts bear maximum fruits. In this article I give you 5 simple practices that have the potential to change your life and make you successful at everything you do.
Live according the rhythms of nature
Our bodies follow the same biorhythm as nature. When we align ourselves with the cycles of nature, we tap into a hidden power that gives us strength and focus. It’s like you are piggy-backing on the forces of nature. The most important cycle to align yourself with is the cycle of night and day. Practically speaking, try to go to bed by 10pm and rise at 6am.
Get enough sleep
It’s a myth that adults don’t need much sleep. During your sleep, the body rejuvenates itself and digests your emotions. When you don’t get enough sleep, your body isn’t able to cleanse itself efficiently. This makes you less focused and emotionally edgy. Different people need different amounts of sleep. For a strong mind, willpower, and health, I suggest you sleep approximately 8 hours per night.
Eat at regular times
Eating your meals at regular times keeps the body running on a predictable supply of fuel. This provides your body and mind with the sustenance to work efficiently by releasing energy as needed and keeping your productivity up.
Practice concentration techniques
One who can keep his unwavering mental focus on a single object for a certain amount of time, can accomplish anything he sets his mind to. If you want to achieve your goals, it is important to learn to master your own mind. Practice concentration techniques to train your mind for maximum achievement.
If you want to accomplish anything in life, you need to know what it is that you want, how to get there, and take the necessary steps – one at the time. Set your goal and then determine which steps you can take this week, next week, next month, etc. to achieve it. Write down your steps on daily to-do lists and keep track of your progress. When setting goals, always keep in mind that your goals should be specific, measurable, attainable, rewarding, and time-bound.
