Relationships. We often think we cannot live with them, but we most definitely cannot live without them either.
Many spiritual traditions have left a legacy scriptures, texts, poetry, and art work about love and spiritual union. Their relationship models seem to be based on respect and mutual transfiguration. The idea of respect is rooted in a deep appreciation for each other as the expression of something divine. Transfiguration means to look past the form - in this case of your lover - and to see the consciousness in them. Both respect and transfiguration lift the relationship between two individuals to a higher, more sacred vibration.
Our desire for relationships, they say, are the expression of our innate spiritual urge for union. Through union with another person, we learn to transcend the ego. This is what love does to us. When we truly love, the other’s wellbeing becomes more important to us than our own. By transcending the ego in such a way, you come closer to your higher Self. This is the goal of spiritual practice, or evolution.
What does it take to form a spiritual relationship? First of all, you have to keep in mind what the goal is: to surrender the ego to love. The perfect partner is therefore someone you can surrender to. This does not meant that you have to surrender to your partner's ego. It means that through your partner, you are able to surrender to love. You surrender to the higher Self that shines through your partner. It takes surrender in order to merge, and it is the merging that brings you closer to God.
WOMEN LONG, MEN DIRECT
Women are naturally gifted with intuition and mystical longing. Men possess the strength and willpower to find the Truth.
In a spiritual relationship, a man and a woman make a perfect team on the journey of spiritual accomplishment. The woman inspires with her devotion, the man leads with his direction.
This is a delicate process that requires work, devotion, and mutual adoration. It requires a man who is aware of the power and intuition of a woman. He looks at her as his muse.
Woman is an angel descended on earth to guide. Once you have a woman by your side, protect her so that she feels safe and can fulfil her role.
If a woman does not feel safe and protected, she will live in fear and therefore won’t be able to shine her light. The result is that through her anxiety, she becomes a burden to you.
Men, protect your woman, as she is fragile as a blooming flower, and her soul will shine and light the spark within you. If your woman is needy, anxious, jealous, insecure, it means that she doesn’t feel safe.
A woman will feel safe if you hold her completely. If you can take-on the whole of her. This requires a setting aside of the individual ego. Not an easy task!
A woman in love, will naturally do everything to make her man happy. It is her nature to nurture, to serve, to surrender.
Men generally have as their main goal a personal project, their work, or their spiritual quest. However, remember that the woman, your muse, your light, with her intuition and pure love, will guide you there.
Men, your calling is to protect her and take care of her. If a woman feels safe, you will be rewarded with a guiding light of love.
One who is happy can only look at the world with love. And it is in this love that we can find our true Self.
